Chuy Morales ProfileBack in 1989 Chuy opened his fishing tackle store in Monterrey, Mexico where he was born and raised. Being in the fishing tackle business introduced him to people like Bobby and Billy Murray - living legends of the sport. They've been close friends since and he considers them to be his mentors. Chuy is a firm believer in the "Catch and Release" philosophy, so much so that he organized the very first catch and release bass tournament in Mexico back in 1991. Chuy's first Bass Fishing Seminar was in Monterrey in 1992 and he's been very active organizing fishing seminars, tackle shows, ever since. Media Chuy writes weekly fishing articles for 2 newspapers in Monterrey. (El Diario de Monterrey. EXTRA Diario de la tarde) He's collaborating as a outdoor writer in the fishing magazine Con Cana y Carrete In 2005 he aired the very first fishing show on radio (XERG AM 690) He's appear on the national fishing show Con Cana y Carrete that follows the the National Bass Fishing Circuit. Chuy's a regular on the Outdoor Channel's People Who Fish show with Bobby and Billy Murray. He's fished the 2005 and 2006 MEXICO vs USA tournament with the top 10 teams which aired on BassChamps show on the Outdoor Channel. Tournaments In 1999 Chuy and his son began fishing the National Bass Fishing Circuit where they became the most consistent team 8 years running. Back in November 17, 2001, Chuy won the "El Cuchillo Lake Record" with a very fat and broad 14.06 lb, 26.5" female bass released alive and unharmed after being weighed. That was Mexico’s Largemouth Bass Record caught in a tournament. Bass Fishing World Championship April 2007, the “III BASS FISHING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP” was celebrated on Spain where Chuy led the teams that went to compete on the famous Lake Caspe. Seminars He also provides translation for English to Spanish when US pros visit. When he's not coordinating seminars and leading angling teams in national tournaments, he spends his time at his guiding service on El Cuchillo & Sugar Lake (about 100 + days per year).
